4-Day Break

Dec 27 – Local departure by coach then onward to Belgium and our base of Hasselt for a three-night stay.

Dec 28 – Cologne (included). Full-day visit to Cologne with its famous cathedral and picturesque setting on the River Rhine. Take time to visit the Dom with its twin spires, the city’s most famous landmark. B

Dec 29 – Monschau & Valkenburg (included). Head into Germany through the Eifel Hills to the fairytale town of Monschau with its half-timbered buildings and welcoming taverns clustered along the banks of the River Rur. Continue into Holland, to Valkenburg, situated at the crossroads of three countries, and a favoured destination for travellers in Europe. Explore the quaint cobbled alleyways, visit the shops or relax with a glass of the local white beer. B

Dec 30 – To Calais and then home. B

Accommodation

You’ll stay for three nights at the 4-star Holiday Inn Hasselt. The hotel is situated near the town shopping area and only a short walk from the Marina. All bedrooms have T.V., telephone, hairdryer and tea/coffee-making facilities. The hotel has a restaurant, bar and lift.
